We celebrated our traditional Ascension-day service of Holy Communion in the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Rianmont at Vésancy; after which 13 of us set off on a pilgrimage to visit all the churches we worship in.
We stopped in Divonne where George Mills gave us an interesting talk on some of the history of the temple.
After a lunch in the parish hall, we then set off for Crassier where Hugo talked to us about some of the history linked to the church there.
Once refreshed, we walked our way to Gingins where Niki greeted us and told us about the history and gave us some insight on the stained- glass windows.
On our way down from Gingins, we made a quick stop at the temple in Signy where Hugo had prepared some information, in the form of a prayer, for us on that building.
We finally made it to Nyon for drinks and finger food.
Along the way some people left and others joined us. Carolyn had prepared a leaflet with some reflective psalms and at one point we walked in silence, enjoying nature and our own thoughts and prayers.
We encountered, rain, sun and rainbows on the way and thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company and the beauty of nature along the 23 km.
A big thank you and shout out to Patricia who “won” the walk at the auction in November 2024 and turned it into a true community event.
