On Sunday September 13th, in the church in Gingins, we welcomed Sienna Luna Gautheret into God’s family and into our church family.
Sienna’s family, Godparents and friends, along with the church family, made promises to support and pray for Sienna’s future.
In our opening prayer we thanked God for the wonder of new life and asked Him to give the parents His sustaining grace and love. We all promised to support Sienna as she begins her journey of faith – after which Sienna was signed with the sign of the Cross.
The baptism water was blessed, and Sienna was baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. A big round of applause welcomed Sienna into God’s family.
Sienna’s parents gave prayerful thanks to God for their wonderful daughter.
The service came to an end after presenting Sienna with a lighted candle. The whole congregation spoke to her saying “You have received the light of Christ; walk in his light all the days of your life. Shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father.”
In the parish room there were beautiful refreshments where we celebrated with Sienna and her family and friends.
