The 2025 Advent Lunch took place in the Parish room at Divonne. The event was led by an incredible events team, comprising of Jenny Beighton, Karen Robson, Niki Low, Liz Bramley and Stephen and Gigi Talbot.
Upon arrival, there was Christmas music playing setting the scene perfectly, and we were welcomed with a choice of drinks. The room was decorated with bunting, a Christmas tree and beautifully decorated tables in a large U shape. On the tables our places were set and interspersed with lovely decorated candles. The “staff” were smartly kitted out in purple aprons, tying in with the purple on the tables, around the room and the colour of the advent event.
Mike French compered the lunch with fun and humour and Caroyln said grace as we took our seats. We were then served our starters, followed by mains and plentiful desserts. The food was absolutely delicious and there was more than enough to go around. In between we enjoyed a comedic skit by Pam Walsh, Georges Mills and Matthew Kahane and a great sing along with Richard Hawkings. At the end of lunch the candle arrangements were auctioned off. Altogether the Advent Lunch raised over €1’000 – which was donated to two local charities.
The whole event was so smoothly run by the team, that it felt truly professional. The atmosphere was welcoming, loving and celebratory. Thanks to a huge amount of work and planning before the event, a superb afternoon was had by all, so huge thanks to those of you who made it happen.
