During spring 2005 a group of people from Holy Trinity and La Côte churches living in the Morges / St-Prex / Rolle area gathered and suggested the possibility of establishing a new worship community in that area at some time in the future. They decided to start by meeting as a study and prayer group to see where it would lead. Revd Adèle Kelham, chaplain to Christchurch Lausanne joined the group so that we could work together to build a future. The first meeting took place just before Christmas 2005 in St. Prex. We have since established a regular pattern of meeting at 8pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, in the home of Mark and Sarah Jeffrey. There are 10 people who have become part of that group. The group usually follows a study and then finishes with a short period of worship, often following an order for Home Communion or Compline, and including shared prayers and concerns. During Autumn 2006, the group organised 2 home based services on Saturday evenings which went very well indeed. And then at Christmas we held a carol service in the chapelle de Couvaloup in Morges. This proved very popular, attracting 50 people. A service for Easter followed in March 2007 at the same church. The group continues to meet twice a month and would like to welcome others to join in. If you would be interested in participating, please email marktjeffrey@hotmail.com , or call 021 806 2638.
The well-appointed chapelle de Couvaloup sparkled with festive cheer at the Christmas Carol Service. Mince pies and mulled wine followed, much to the delight of all.
In Autumn 2006 we were warmly welcomed to worship together by Brian and Veda in Lussy, and by Michael and Antonia in Mollens. Hearty suppers followed, and much fun was had by all............................
Looking from Ash Wednesday through to Good Friday, our 2nd service in Morges tried to capture an over view of the approach to Easter.
